There are many controversial recommendations circulating about lymphedema risk after breast cancer surgery, such as a mastectomy or lumpectomy. What causes lymphedema after breast cancer surgery? What is true and what is not? Why is there so much confusion? In today's video, which is part 1 of a series, we are going to go through 3 different myths about lymphedema after breast cancer surgery. Do Blood draws cause lymphedema? Does vigorous exercise cause lymphedema? Does sleeping on your side or certain bras cause lymphedema after breast cancer surgery?

Learn about the exercises to do if you have lymphoedema in your arm or you're at risk of getting it. Chest and breast lymphedema and swelling are common after breast cancer and melanoma cancer treatment with surgery and/or radiation. But what causes this? What places someone at risk for lymphedema of the arm and breast after cancer treatment? In this video, I share what increases someone’s risk for arm lymphedema, breast swelling and chest lymphedema after cancer treatment for both breast cancer-related lymphedema and lymphedema from melanoma cancer of the upper body, as well as share what the early signs of lymphedema are and what to look for.
