Why I Decided To Remove My Ovaries (AKA Have An Oophorectomy)
Why I Decided To Remove My Ovaries (AKA Have An Oophorectomy) administrator 3 Views • 2 years ago

In this video, you will learn why after a few years of indecision, I finally decided to have my ovaries removed (Oophorectomy).

It's been a difficult decision for me to make. I am not BRCA positive, nor do I have a family history of ovarian cancer. My reasons for forging ahead with the surgery might not be what you expect.

If you are exploring ovary removal, I hope you know the decisions are not easy and you are not alone in making them.

Welcome to narikaa talk show, we focus on women and child development and related health
issues.
Ovarian fallopian tube cancer, also known as tubal or tubo-ovarian cancer, is a rare but
aggressive form of gynecological cancer that affects the ovaries and fallopian tubes. This type of
cancer originates in the cells lining the fallopian tubes or the cells of the ovaries. Ovarian
fallopian tube cancer often goes undetected in its early stages due to its nonspecific symptoms
or the lack of routine screening methods. As the disease progresses, it may cause symptoms
such as abdominal pain, bloating, changes in bowel habits, and a feeling of fullness. Risk
factors for developing this type of cancer include a family history of ovarian or breast cancer,
certain genetic mutations like BRCA1 and BRCA2, and older age. Diagnosis usually involves a
combination of imaging tests, blood tests to measure tumor markers, and a surgical procedure
called a biopsy. Treatment options for ovarian fallopian tube cancer typically include surgery to
remove the tumors, followed by chemotherapy to target any remaining cancer cells. The
prognosis for this cancer can vary depending on factors such as the stage at diagnosis, the
extent of the disease, and the overall health of the patient. However, early detection and prompt
treatment can significantly improve the chances of successful outcomes for individuals affected
by ovarian fallopian tube ca
