"Twenty years ago, when I was 9 years old, I broke my leg. That's when they discovered I had bone cancer known as Ewing sarcoma. I had chemo and a bone transplant.

I had to have a hip replacement in 2001 because the top part of my bone transplant wasn't mending like it should.

For the last several years, I've been making the two-hour trip from Hamburg to Little Rock once or twice a year for checkups, but today I was released from treatment.

Dr. Richard Nicholas has been my doctor for the whole 20 years of my treatment. He was a wonderful doctor and taken good care of me.

Having cancer as a child caused me to have a brighter outlook on life and helped me understand a lot of things I might not have understood otherwise. It definitely made me grow up faster — too fast my mom always says."

Speaking about the treatment experience, the little one’s father, Mr. Laxmi Kanth Reddy articulates his apprehensions and anxiety during these corona virus times. To visit a hospital, to be admitted in one and to undergo treatment was fraught with risks, is what he believed.

However, he explains that the hospital took every possible care to ensure that they had an excellent treatment experience; all measures were taken to their satisfaction to curb any possible infections and every measure was put in place to keep both the staff as well as the patients safe from corona virus.

Explaining about the measures, he says that the chemotherapy unit was completely sanitized and fumigated before each patient was allowed in and this ensured that there was no chance of any infection spreading from one patient to another. Thanking the doctors & staff for their service, Mr. Reddy believes that American Oncology Institute is the best place for cancer treatment in India, especially during the covid_19 times.
