The liver is a major organ only found in vertebrates that performs many essential biological functions such as detoxification of the organism, and the synthesis of proteins and biochemicals necessary for digestion and growth.

Liver cancer is cancer that begins in the cells of your liver. The liver is one of the largest organs of the human body. The liver does not contain any nerve fibres that can sense pain. Only liver capsules have the nerve fibers that can sense pain, so if in any case liver capsules get affected the patient is likely to sense pain.

The cases in which the liver capsule can get affected and cause pain are:
1. If the tumor near the liver capsule grows rapidly, it causes pain.
2. If the liver cancer spreads to the lymph nodes, the liver capsules get affected. This is commonly called dull aching.
3. When liver cancer metastasizes, it spreads to the lungs & and bones.

In early-stage liver cancer, the patient does not suffer any pain or symptoms. It is important to diagnose liver cancer in its early stage itself which will ensure a high cure rate and successful treatment.
