Recently doctors have been seeing an increase in colorectal cancer in people who are younger than 50. Colorectal cancers affect the colon and the rectum. The symptoms of colorectal cancer are rectal bleeding, a change in bowel habits, meaning constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, appetite changes, and weight loss. If you have these symptoms, talk to your doctor. Colonoscopies are used for the detection of early colorectal cancers. If caught early, colorectal cancer can be cured.
