What is Neuroendocrine Tumors?
Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are a type of cancer that begins in the hormone-producing cells of the body's neuroendocrine system. They can develop in various parts of the body, such as the pancreas, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract. NETs are often slow-growing and can be difficult to diagnose because they can produce a wide range of symptoms. Treatment options depend on the location, size, and stage of the tumor, but may include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
