Jillian was diagnosed with a brain cancer called medulloblastoma when she was 4. She underwent surgery and chemotherapy at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

During her battle with cancer, Jillian "Sassy Massey" was an inspiration to her parents, brothers, grandparents, doctors, nurses, neighbors, friends, community and many others.

She died when she was 5.
