Over the last 40 years, liver cancer incidence has more than tripled while death rates from the disease have more than doubled. Currently, liver cancer is the fastest-growing cause of cancer death in the U.S. The disease is also a leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, accounting for more than 700,000 deaths each year.
