ALL is a type of blood cancer that primarily affects children, but can also occur in adults. The video will begin by discussing the epidemiology of ALL, including its incidence and commonest age groups to be affected, as well as risk factors associated with the disease.
Next, we will delve into the pathophysiology of ALL, explaining the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to its development. Symptoms of ALL will be highlighted, including fatigue, fever, easy bruising or bleeding, bone pain, and swollen lymph nodes.
The video will then explore the various investigations used to diagnose ALL, such as blood tests, bone marrow biopsies, and blood films. Finally, we will discuss the management of ALL, which typically involves chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation, as well as the prognosis for both children and adults who get diagnosed with ALL.
