Spying On Breast Cancer Metastasis
Spying On Breast Cancer Metastasis administrator 3 Views • 2 years ago

http://www.einstein.yu.edu - In this award-winning film that was featured on the NIH Director’s Blog, M.D./Ph.D. student Edison Leung says that he and his colleagues make movies of all genres—horror, action, thriller, and war—as they capture imaging inside living breast cancer tumors. Using a combination of live cell imaging in mice, 3D animation and analogies of espionage, Edison and postdoc Allison Harney demonstrate how cutting edge research can lead to counter attacks against breast cancer metastasis. Edison was one of three scientists who won a Celldance 2015 filmmaking award from the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) to create a video about cell research that is understandable to the general public. He and Allison work in the lab of John Condeelis, Ph.D. at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. [Creative Director/Writer: Sunita Reed; Editor: Charles Young, Einstein Communications Dept.]

A message from Mike Linares, founder of SimpleNursing
Since 2012, I started to do mini lectures from my parents in home library, armed with a $30 white board from Walmart & a sock to erase the board. Since then I have created over 1,200 videos, only 20% which live on YouTube, and have helped over 1,000,000 nursing students pass their NCLEX, HESI, ATI, and Kaplan proctor exams. Thank you for the continued support and love as we strive to help LPN, LVN and RN students become licensed nurses!

When breast cancer survivor Staci Akselrod first approached doctors about a lump in her right breast, she was told she was too young to have breast cancer. She was ultimately diagnosed at age 26 and has since undergone two years of treatment. Now cancer-free, she wants to spread awareness that breast cancer can strike regardless of age and young women should be vigilant about getting checked if they sense something isn’t right.
