Ask The Doctor: Can I take CBD oil with Prednisone?
Ask The Doctor: Can I take CBD oil with Prednisone? administrator 1 Views • 2 years ago

Hi everyone, this next question I think is very interesting.

Can I take CBD oil with prednisone? The answer I believe is yes. And it may actually be helpful in that setting.

Some patients when they take prednisone develop a restlessness or agitation and sometimes that can be severe, CBD may reduce those possible side effects of prednisone.

So the combination may actually be helpful in some people. The other side of the coin is that prednisone is metabolized in the liver to prednisolone. And that metabolism is important because prednisolone is the active molecule with that medication. The next metabolic step after prednisolone uses a CYP enzyme in the liver that is also modulated by CBD. So the second step in metabolism of prednisone can be affected by CBD. However, the first step in the metabolism of prednisone should not be affected. And that's the important part.

So in summary, CBD can be helpful especially for treating some of the side effects of prednisone and it should not cause any problem with liver metabolism.

So overall, I think it's okay, just be careful as always, start low go slow. And if you have any questions about your prednisone Be sure to ask your regular doctor.

NHA Asks US House of Representatives For $1 Billion, CBD Study Shows Use In Bladder Cancer
NHA Asks US House of Representatives For $1 Billion, CBD Study Shows Use In Bladder Cancer administrator 6 Views • 2 years ago

A national hemp trade organization is asking U.S. House of Representatives leadership to attach $1 billion in funding to budget reconciliation legislation to support industry innovation and research on the crop.

The National Hemp Association (NHA), which says it represents 90 percent of state hemp permit holders across the U.S., recently wrote a letter to top lawmakers with a proposed amendment that is meant to boost the industry as it works to find its footing after the plant was legalized under the 2018 Farm Bill.

California cannabis advocates scored a pair of victories in the state legislature this week. Lawmakers sent a bill to the governor’s desk to set up a regulatory framework for hemp-derived CBD sales that also removes the ban on smokable hemp products, and they also approved a measure to require hospitals to permit medical marijuana use by certain patients.

Another California bill was also sent to drop the minimum mandatory jail time for nonviolent drug-offenders.

A New York senator wants to give local jurisdictions another year to decide whether they will opt out of allowing marijuana businesses to operate in their area—a proposal that advocates say is unnecessary and would create undue complications for the industry.

In This Episode:

Cannabis has been widely shown to improve a cancer patient’s quality of life. In this episode, Dr Frankel gives me the run down on how he provides dosed, predictable cannabis medicine to his patients to help them manage the side effects of conventional treatment. Plus he shares the specific formula he uses to calculate the right dosage.

We discuss the anti-cancer properties of cannabis along with Dr Frankel’s own clinical experience of cannabis as an effective cancer treatment. We talk specifically about the benefits of whole plant cannabis vs isolates, and how the cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) can help manage pain, treat nausea and vomiting, and treat the anxiety that goes along with fighting cancer.

So if you’re considering adding cannabis to your alternative treatment protocol, this episode is a must-see.
