This is because nose cancer, properly termed nasopharyngeal carcinoma, or NPC, is a hidden disease occurring deep at the back of the nose, where it connects to the back of the throat.

Of all the head and neck cancers, NPC is a relatively common condition in Singapore, especially amongst those of Chinese descent. If detected early, effective treatment for NPC is available and often does not require surgery, which is reserved for advanced disease.
