A Stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis is reserved for those whose cancer has progressed outside the prostate to other organs. Usually the cancer is no longer responding to hormonal therapy at this point. There are a variety of medications available for patients with this diagnosis to help extend their length and quality of life.
