WBTV: Tryon Medical on colorectal cancer in younger patients

Because more young people are being diagnosed with colorectal cancer, as May of 2021, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults with average risk should be screened earlier starting at age 45 instead of 50. (Those at higher risk may need to be screened even earlier.) While studies havenโ€™t yet determined why, they have shown that during the pandemic, many have postponed preventive care, so colorectal cancers are being caught later. Tryon gastroenterologist Amit Aravapalli joined Kristen Miranda at the WBTV QC@3 team March 15, 2022, to share more.
