This is a short treatment outcome awareness video of a limb salvage surgery for bone cancer(sarcoma).
Ewing's sarcoma is an aggressive bone cancer. It is known to affect the pelvis, scapula and the spine in addition to limbs.
Ewing's sarcoma belong to PNET/EFT entity and are known to be aggressive and fatal if untreated. This case scenario is of a young adult who was suffering from sarcoma involvement of shoulder blade bone (scapula). He underwent limb salvage surgery with partial scapulectomy, preserving the shoulder joint and function. This was possible due to good response to pre operative chemotherapy and adequate imaging by mri and pet ct scans.
