This is a short treatment outcome awareness video of a limb salvage surgery for bone cancer(sarcoma).
Ewing's sarcoma is an aggressive bone cancer. It affects the pediatric age group predominantly. Adults affected with Ewing's sarcoma often have a much more aggressive behavior pattern.
Ewing's sarcoma belong to PNET/EFT entity and are known to be aggressive and fatal if untreated. This case scenario is of a middle aged adult who was suffering from sarcoma involvement of upper end of tibia. He underwent limb salvage surgery and reconstruction with cemented tumour Endoprosthesis after pre operative chemotherapy. The advantage of tumor endoprosthesis is that it allows immediate weight bearing mobilization and an early return to function.
