Staging Thyroid Cancer and Residual Disease | Memorial Sloan Kettering
Diagnostic tools have become so sensitive that they can detect even the tiniest amount of thyroid cancer cells that remain after treatment. The side effects and costs of treatment must be considered carefully before treating these residual tumors.
