Short Review: General Overview of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast)
This video covers a general overview of the pathology of invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) of the breast (also known as invasive carcinoma of no special type, breast carcinoma not otherwise specified, and mammary carcinoma). The broad sub types and grading of IDC are reviewed over three cases (routine H&E slides only). Prognosis, treatment options, and genetic aberrations leading to increased risk are briefly discussed.

Clarification: The distance within your microscope field will affect how many mitotic figures are allowed for the mitotic index of the modified Richardson-Bloom. Essentially, as your field of vision gets wider on your microscope, you will allow for more mitotic figures before assigning a higher number for the mitotic figures when grading IDC.
