Dr. Ruzicka is a honorary member of 14 dermatological and medical societies, and Director of the Dermatology Department, Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich. His main research activities are concentrated around such issues as the Role of inflammatory mediators and cytokines in inflammatory dermatoses, biochemical pharmacology of the skin, molecular biology of cutaneous inflammatory reactions and carcinogenesis, environmental medicine. He is an author of 15 books, 722 original articles, about 600 abstracts of lectures and posters.
