Nose Basal Cell Carcinoma Punch Biopsy | Auburn Medical Group
Basal Cell Carcinoma of the nose is biopsied with a punch biopsy instrument to confirm the diagnosis before deciding on treatment options. Both superficial and nodular type basal cell carcinoma were found to be present at the peripheral edge, but the deep margin was clear. Treatment options include Moh's surgery, topical chemotherapy, or cryotherapy. We chose to treat with topical imiquimod in this case, based on the evidence in the article:
Imiquimod cream efficacy in the treatment of periocular nodular basal cell carcinoma: a non-randomized trial.
