Carcinoid syndrome is a group of symptoms that occur in some people with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) in the digestive or gastrointestinal tract. Carcinoid symptoms include flushing of the skin (notably the face, neck and upper body), stomach cramping, diarrhea, heart problems and wheezing.

Carcinoid syndrome symptoms usually occur when NETs occur in the gut or digestive system (gastrointestinal NETs) and then spread to other parts of the body โ€“ usually the liver.
