My Struggle to Get a Bladder Cancer Diagnosis | How I Found Support | (The Bladder Cancer Series)
"The Bladder Cancer Series," focuses on Ebony, who was diagnosed with stage N2 bladder cancer, and LaSonya, who was diagnosed with high-grade bladder cancer. In episode 2, they discuss how they found each other through a Facebook support group, how representation matters in cancer care and the importance of finding the right doctor.
In this segment, Dr. Samuel Washington, urological oncologist at UCSF voices how signs and symptoms of bladder cancer “tend to be missed” in women. As a Black physician, he also talks about how race can impact survival outcomes for bladder cancer patients.
