MY CERVICAL CANCER STORY | my normal cells, symptoms of cervical cancer and diagnosis (stage 2B)
Hi lovelies
Firstly, if you’ve taken time out of your day to watch and listen to my story, thank you so much.
Opening up about personal things isn’t something I’m good at but having experienced cervical cancer, I like to tell people what I’ve been through, in the hope that it might inspire women to attend their smear test and learn the signs and symptom of cervical cancer.
When you’re armed with knowledge about these things, you’re giving yourself the best possible chance of making sure you never have to through it yourself.
In the UK, we are very lucky to be given the opportunity to prevent cervical cancer in most cases. It’s a privilege and we should all see it that way.
I attended my smear test and had normal results but due to my type of cancer being aggressive, my cells changed and developed into stage 2B cervical cancer within 14 months.
The statistics of women not attending their smear tests are way too low. Please use what you’ve seen in my video as encouragement to book your smear test if it’s overdue, to book an appointment with your GP if something’s happening to your body which isn’t normal for you and to share the message with your friends and family.
Life is hectic and making time for yourself isn’t always easy but please make your health a priority and put booking your smear test at the top of your to-do list, where it should be!!
