For decades we've been told to slip, slop and slap, and yet Australia still has the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.
Melanoma is the deadliest kind, claiming 1,700 Australian lives each year. Some strains are particularly hard to detect.
One unlucky man who took all the precautions is sharing his story in the hope that it may spare others.
