Bladder cancer is either Superficial or Muscle Invasive. 70 to 80% of the Bladder cancer is superficial and is it affects the superficial layers of the urinary bladder. The symptoms are blood in urine, clot in urine and also passage of tissue material. It occurs in young and middle aged people, especially in smokers. The diagnosis of Superficial Bladder Cancer is done by an ultrasound examination, sometimes CT scan. Once the diagnosis is made the next step is a Cystoscopy, that is Endoscopy of the urinary bladder and this is done under local anesthesia. Once the urologist identifies, he plans to remove it by a procedure called as TURBT. In TURBT, an electric current is used to removed the cancer of the Urinary Bladder . After surgical removal of cancer bladder the treatment is supplemented by Intravescical BCG Instillation which is the treatment of the Bladder Cancer by putting BCG inside the Urinary bladder.
