Macular amyloidosis is an unknown disease, which kind of cause black pigmentation on the arms or sometimes on the back. Usually more common in ladies, may be due to some hormonal disturbances. Macular amyloidosis can initially cause an itchy rash. This can be managed by using topical steroid creams or any steroidal creams like tacrolimus which subsides the acute reaction and prevents it from turning dark or blackish in colour. The other treatment for macular amyloidosis is usually is used to do chemical peels. Widespread areas can be done under chemical peels, but as we run a few number of sittings, over a period of 6 to 10 sittings probably, the person should see significant improvement.
