Glioma को "Glioblastoma" भी कहा जाता है। Glioma सबसे common brain tumour है। वे almost 30% - 40% brain tumour को constitute करते हैं। वे brain or spinal cord में बनते हैं।

Symptoms आमतौर पर late होते हैं। Patients द्वारा symptoms late present होते हैं। Headache, चक्कर आना, vomiting, body के एक तरफ लकवा मार जाना। बात करने में problem, याद करने की problem Glioma के common signs and symptoms हैं।

Glioma के three types होते है। First one is Astrocytoma जो less common है लेकिन aggressive है। दूसरा है Ependymomas। और आखिरी वाला Glioblastoma Multiforme है जिसे GB के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।

Diagnosis के बाद 100 में से approximately 50 लोग 13 से 15 months तक survive करते हैं। ये result chemo-radiation के बाद पाया गया हैं।

एक Neurosurgeon MRI brain with contrast करता है। एक बढ़ता हुआ mass है जो Glioma की ओर इशारा करता है। Pressure symptoms brain tumour के संकेत देते हैं। Pressure point brain को skull के एक side धकेलता है। Trouble in walking, mood swings, change in behaviour, Glioblastoma Multiforme की ओर इशारा करता है।

सबसे common treatment "Imaging" के द्वारा किया जाता है। सबसे common treatment "Imaging" द्वारा किया जाता है। Doctors की एक team इसके MRI brain with contrast की मदद से condition का diagnosis करती है। पहला option “Surgery” है। कुछ tumour को surgery से ठीक नहीं किया जा सकता है। इसलिए second option के तौर पर Radiation or Chemotherapy का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। Craniotomy भी एक और सर्जरी है।

5:24 Radiation therapy क्या है? (What is Radiation therapy?)
Patient को 60 Gy की radiation dose 30 fractions में 5 से 6 weeks तक दी जाती है। Treatment के दौरान doctors द्वारा "Temozolomide" नामक oral tablet prescribe की जाती है। यह procedure 30 days तक चलती है। After follow-up, patient को 6 months के लिए "Temozolomide" prescribe किया जाता है। यह process 2 से 3 years तक चलती है।
