Salvatore Paiella on "Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration for the diagnosis and grading of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors: a retrospective analysis of 110 cases "
Authors: Salvatore Paiella, Luca Landoni, Roberta Rota et al.
Summary:
Specimens obtained by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fineneedle aspiration (EUS-FNA) from pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors in 110 patients were adequate for grading in 70% of cases (over 2000 cells for Ki-67 index determination). When compared with histology from the surgical specimens in 77 patients, EUS-FNA grading was correct in 82 %, and under- and overgrading were seen in 16% and 3% of cases, respectively.
