The long recovery from colorectal cancer surgery begins here. Malin, at just age 29, has just had an operation to remove her colorectal cancer. After a full cycle of radiation therapy and 4 rounds of chemotherapy, the last step of the journey is here, a 9 hour operation to remove the colon (the source of her colorectal cancer), her uterus, and more.
The cancer surgery, performed here in Sweden, took just over 9 hours, and the recovery process so far has been brutal. It's a long road ahead.
Malin has handled her colon cancer diagnosis incredibly well, and over the last 7 months has been through a variety of cancer treatments and even an unplanned, emergency surgery. This is a big step towards being cancer-free.
