Central Texas Doctors, Patients Spreading the Word for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cause of cancer deaths in both males and females in Texas. Chilling stats released by the Texas Cancer Registry showed that in 2022, an estimated 12,444 Texans were diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Texas Oncology patient Revendy Rhodes was diagnosed in September of 2022 with stage III colorectal cancer after what he thought was just a change in bowel habits and possibly an intestinal infection. After multiple visits to various doctors, he was referred to Thomas J. Harris, M.D., Texas Oncology-Groesbeck and Texas Oncology-Waco and Justin W. Wray, M.D., PH.D., Texas Oncology-Waco who swiftly acted and began a series of treatments for Revendy. Revendy now advocates for individuals to not ignore the symptoms and not ignore your annual screenings by sharing his story this Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
