Cancer sucks - This is my treatment story, #ACC
I was diagnosed with stage 4 adenoid cystic carcinoma, also known as ACC for short. This video is my story of surgery and radiation treatment, and the prosthetic device I wear, and how I'm doing now.
I also forgot to mention in the video that along with the radiation therapy, I had to have gamma knife to the part that had reached my brain stem. I didn't get any pictures of that. It required them to screw a halo thing into my head to hold my head in place. You can find pictures of what I mean on the internet with a simple google search. By the time I had that done, my phone had broken so I wasn't able to document that part of my treatment. I just remember not being able to wash my hair for several days, like a week maybe, so I had to deal with it being matted with blood where they screwed the halo into my head. Yucky and uncomfortable.
