How cancer has shattered my mental health.
Malin & Tom
Cancer destroys everything in its path, and mental health is just one of the victims of this awful disease. Malin's mental health has suffered terribly from her cancer journey, as has Tom's, and everyone around. It's been a rough journey, and we feel that it's not spoken about enough.
Mental health awareness is incredibly important, and as victims of a colorectal cancer battle, we feel like we should be speaking out about how cancer has affected us mentally, psychologically and emotionally, as well as the obvious physical effects.
In October 2022, after months of terrible symptoms, Malin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colorectal cancer. In the last 8 months, she has undergone radiation therapy, chemotherapy, an unplanned emergency surgery, and finally a planned operation to remove her colon and uterus, and has been left with a permanent colostomy. But, after all the hard work, Malin has finished her treatment and can now focus on recovery, and we're doing just that by being out in the beautiful Swedish nature, in our campervan called Sunny.

We are a young 'Swenglish' adventure family, that consists of Swedish Malin, English Tom, and babies Charlie & Isabella, who are half and half. We love all kinds of adventures, including travelling around Sweden and beyond in our little budget family campervan, and we're currently building our dream campervan project.
But right now we’re focused on one thing: to be free of cancer. We've been on the journey to recover since Malin received her colorectal cancer diagnosis in late 2022.
