Breast Cancer and Resiliency During Pregnancy
What would you do if you found out you had breast cancer while you were pregnant? Our guest Feili Lee was pregnant with her third child, and still nursing her one year old, when she noticed a lump on her breast. An ultrasound confirmed a very aggressive breast cancer. At six and a half months pregnant, it was a big shock. Feili was told she wouldn’t have long to live. She had big decisions to make. She was a single mom living in the U.S. without family support. Should she continue her pregnancy? Who will take care of her other two children? She began to plan her funeral, will and asset planning. She also began chemotherapy. On top of this, her father passed away and her mother wanted her to give her children away to her brother in Asia. Talk about resiliency! Feili’s story inspires us all.
