17-year-old Ecem Onutman applied to the hospital with the complaint of cough and 7kg weight loss in the last 6 months. Her symptoms showed that she was having something serious more than a flu. After running some diagnostic tests, Ecem was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
There are two types of lymphoma in childhood; Hodgkin (HL) and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). Although Non-hodgkin Lymphoma is more common cancer type amongst her age group, Ecem is diagnosed with Stage 3rd Classic-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Hodgkin lymphoma is often diagnosed at an early stage and considered one of the most treatable cancers. Most patients with Hodgkin lymphoma live long and healthy lives following successful treatment
