This week’s presentation in our Winter Spring Webinar Series was “Acute Leukaemia in children” with Dr Andrew Wood.

Dr Wood is a Paediatric Oncologist at Starship, and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Auckland. This webinar is essential viewing for all families who have a child with Leukaemia. As the most common of all childhood cancers, leukaemia is a complex disease. Dr Wood gives us a clear view of what leukaemia is, and how and why it occurs. We are given a reassuring picture of how treatment has evolved over the decades with significantly improved survival rates and treatment developments. Acknowledging the huge toll childhood cancer has on families, Dr Wood provides great advice in a clear and concise way.
