At least 90% of the patients with head and neck cancer undergo radiation therapy which makes the movement of the mouth harder.

How to do physiotherapy for head & neck cancer?
Triscare is a jaw-opening device that has a key. The patients are asked to fix the key a little tighter to what they can possibly open their mouth. You can do this for 30sec, 45sec, and then for 60sec according to your capacity. In the start, there is a possibility that your jaw might have pain but you need to bear the pain to prevent the fibrosis that is developing inside.

The frequency of the Jaw opening exercise should be around 4 to 5 times a day. If you do not do this regularly then there is a possibility that your jaw will open to a very small extent, which then will be impossible to cure.

The patients also undergo neck dissection during head and neck cancer surgery, they have to do shoulder physiotherapy without fail. This shoulder therapy must be done at least a hundred times a day throughout life. This eases the stiffness in your shoulder.
