✅ I am Florentina, and I was diagnosed with very advanced ovarian cancer at the end of 2017, almost three years ago. At first, I was in disbelief, I didn’t believe that this could happen to me, once you are aware that they are talking to you about cancer and that you have a serious illness.

✅ The first feeling that comes to mind is absolute panic and the truth is that this panic makes all your personal structures stagger. I am a person who is always quite balanced and the panic about the disease knowing nothing made me totally disoriented and I didn't know what to do, fortunately, in my close friend environment,

✅ The second recommendation was to visit a good professional because the cancer was very aggressive and advanced. This intervention was a success because the medical team from the first moment on gave me a lot of confidence. And because of that empathic treatment, it makes you believe in the team and feel accompanied.

✅ That treatment and that empathy with your doctor are very important because of the independence of the operation. The protection, the interest, and the affection that is transmitted are very important in your recovery.

✅ And the second thing that this good friend recommended to me was to contact a psychologist. Of course, we always talk about cancer, and what we mainly know is the physical suffering and I have suffered a lot physically, sometimes I look back and I do not know how I overcame that suffering but there is another part of the suffering that is not talked about openly because perhaps it is something more personal, which is the emotional suffering.

✅ For the first reason, because I have arrived here, and three years have passed. I have managed to overcome not only the part linked to my health but also the important personal affectation that this disease generated in my life. And the fact of valuing things that before I practically did not even realize that they existed in my life, they are small things. It is not necessary to think about my great aspirations, just even with small things I continue to enjoy day to day without thinking about what will happen tomorrow.

✅ I think I am a privileged person after everything that has happened in my life because I feel strong and to a great extent the people who have surrounded me have had a lot to do with it, in terms of medicine, intervention, the people I have met at the hospital and above all the emotional help I have needed to get back on my feet as a person.
