Webinar: Robotic Cystectomies for Bladder Cancer
Intuitive contributed a grant towards the production costs of this webinar, but all editorial control was retained by Fight Bladder Cancer.
In this webinar, chaired by Lydia Makaroff (Chief Executive of Fight Bladder Cancer), Matthew Perry (Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Surrey NHS Trust) will talk about robotic surgeries for bladder cancer. They will explain:
• How a robotic cystectomy compares to open surgeries
• How the robotic technology is used
• Who robotic surgery is appropriate for
• Long and short-term outcomes of robotic vs open cystectomies.
We will also hear from Alison Roodhouse (Cystectomy/Bladder Nurse Specialist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital) about:
• What to expect from the operation
• How to prepare for surgery
• After the surgery
• Follow-up care.
Joining them are two bladder cancer patients who have undergone robotic cystectomies. Anne and Mark will share their experiences and tips on how to prepare for the procedure.
Their presentations are followed by a Q&A session.
