Bladder cancer is often found in 2 ways....

1. By signs or symptoms a person is having.

2. because of lab tests

One such test is called Urinary Tumor Marker Test

So these are the tests which are done to determine cellular characteristics and markers or substances released by bladder cancer cells into the urine.

Basically Urinary tumor markers are substances found in the urine that are either made ...by bladder cancer cells or ....that the body makes in response to bladder cancer.

For this test, a sample of urine is checked in the lab to detect the presence of these substances.

Now One or more of these tests may be used along with urine cytology to help see if you have bladder cancer.
