The stages of stomach cancer are three.
1. Localised
No indication exists that cancer has spread outside the stomach.
2. Locally advanced
Locally advanced Cancer that has grown into the tissues around the stomach, or into lymph nodes.
3. Metastatic stomach
Metastatic Stomach cancer that spreads into nearby organs & other parts of the body.
Why is it crucial to understand stomach cancer's stage?
Cancer's stage indicates how far along it is in the body. It helps determine cancer's severity and the most effective course of treatment. When discussing survival rates, doctors also refer to the stage of cancer.
