5 Ways to prevent stomach cancer
1. Healthy lifestyle
Being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight may reduce the risk of certain types of cancer. Breast, prostate, lung, kidney, and stomach cancer are examples.
2. Avoide smoking and drinking alcohol
Avoiding tobacco or deciding to stop using it is an important step towards cancer prevention. Ask a health care provider about stop-smoking products and other ways to quit smoking and reduce your alcohol consumption for assistance.
3. If you have been diagnosed with H. pylori infection, seek treatment as soon as possible.
H.pylori can cause long-term stomach irritation, swelling, and painย as well as stomach ulcers. This can result in cancer.
4. If you have a strong family history of cancer, seek genetic counselling and testing.
If some of your close family members have cancer, it doesn't mean you'll get it, but it does mean you're more likely to develop certain cancers than other people. An inherited faulty gene is thought to be responsible for 3 to 10 of every 100 cancers.
