The Progress of Pancreatic Cancer Research
Why has pancreatic cancer been so hard to cure? In this video, researchers explain that pancreatic cancer doesn’t have just one cause, that it is biologically aggressive and does not function or respond in the same way as many other cancers. We need to understand the biology of how it works in order to develop new treatment options and discover an effective cure. https://www.rogelcancercenter.....org/pancreatic-cance
In pursuit of better treatments and a cure, researchers have come together in collaboration through the Rogel Cancer Center at Michigan Medicine to form the Pancreatic Cancer Research Initiative, where new approaches, including investigating the function and potential application of immune-based therapies, are being researched.
Researchers featured in this video: Howard Crawford, Ph.D., Theodore Lawrence, M.D., Ph.D., Timothy Frankel, M.D., Costas Lyssiotis, Ph.D., Marina Pasca di Magliano, M.D., Clifford Cho, M.D., and Vaibhav Sahai, M.D.
