2.10 Is the entire stomach taken out in surgery for stomach cancer?
If the cancer is in the lower part of the stomach, it's called a tumor in the lower part and two-thirds of the stomach is removed during the surgery.
But If the tumor is in the upper part of the stomach, it's called a tumor in the upper part and the entire stomach is taken out during the surgery.
4:07 What is Proximal Gastrectomy?
If there is early stomach cancer that occurs in the upper part of the stomach, then during the surgery, only the cancer part is removed instead of the entire stomach, Which is called Proximal gastrectomy. But this surgery is rarely done.
