Stage 4 Prostate Cancer—a story of inspiration and strength told by survivor, Dan Garr
Dan Garr shares his story and reveals his inspiration for fighting Stage 4 prostate cancer. Having a passion for long distance ocean swimming, Dan explains how preparing for surgery is a lot like preparing for a long distance swim, developing one's mindset and physical core. Dan swam 23km from Italy to the island of Elba within 3 weeks of his robotic surgery to remove his prostate. Dan's treating physicians include Timothy G. Wilson, M.D., Director of Urology and Urologic Oncology Research Program, Professor and Chair of Urology and Urologic Oncology, and Przemyslaw W. Twardowski, M.D. (Dr. T), Director of Clinical Research, Urology and Urologic Oncology, Professor of Medical Oncology and Urologic Oncology, at Saint John's Cancer Institute.
