Special session highlights: adolescents and young adults with hematologic malignancies
Naveen Pemmaraju, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, gives an overview of a special educational session held at ASCO 2023, which focused on approaching adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with various cancers. Topics that were addressed in this session include novel agents in development for acute leukemias, challenges with treating AYA patients with chronic leukemias, and advances being made in rare blood cancers, namely blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN). This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Annual Congress in Chicago, IL.
