Short Review: Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (Breast)
This is a general overview of one H&E slide containing primary breast adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC), a rare carcinoma of the breast, with information on demographics, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stains, and genetic/molecular findings associated with these lesions.
Please let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions for improvements, topics you found confusing, or things that you think may be interesting to have a review on.
CLARIFICATION: Overall, AdCC has an excellent prognosis, and can even be cured in many patients with the treatment options described. The 20% increased survival benefit mentioned in the video is with use of radiation. Even without radiation post-surgery, approximately 86% of patients will survive 10 years post-diagnosis.
