Providing a Lifeline to People on Cancer Island with Sarah McDonald

(Patient, Survivor/Thriver)

At 44, Sarah McDonald was newly married, newly promoted, and planning pregnancy. It felt like a time of new beginnings in her life when suddenly she was diagnosed with a rare, incurable #cancer. Two months later she was diagnosed with another, unrelated cancer. During this struggle, her father’s cancer, ten years in remission, returned and added new challenges but also a cancer buddy to her world. Told in an honest and oftentimes vulnerable voice, Sarah recounts a year of difficult stories in lighthearted and humorous ways. Readers of the book, The Cancer Channel will laugh and cry – and find it very difficult to set down.

✨A few highlights from the show:

1. A cancer diagnosis is a period of mourning.

2. Incurable cancer doesn't mean terminal cancer.

3. Try to accept your diagnosis so you can focus on healing.

4. "Life is precious and short so we must do what is in our hearts." - Shawn George

🦄About Me:

In 2011, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, out of the blue. I did not have any prior health concerns or issues. Fast forward, the dreaded cancer diagnosis opened my eyes, introduced me to my purpose, and lead me to where I am today.

As a Cancer Doula, I use my 11 years of experience with cancer to support and guide others diagnosed with cancer. Many people are not familiar with what a cancer doula is. Think of me as your personal guide and patient advocate. Schedule a 30-minute Meet and Greet call to learn more. https://bit.ly/OTOSDiscovery
