My 3-year old loves watching surgeries on @youtube. We recently watched a craniotomy and meningioma removal.

Meningiomas are slow-growing tumors that arise from the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. Some require removal with surgery. Black patients have the poorest survival rate following this surgery compared to all other races [J Neuroonc 2020 Apr;147(2):495-501]. More work is needed to understand these racial disparities and develop medical curriculum inclusive of racially diverse patients - so high quality health care can be delivered to all.
