Linda talks about her experiences with stomach pain that she ignored. As a healthy young person who eats well, exercises, does not smoke, she didn't think that she had any problem. Shortly after trips to the emergency room due to pain, Linda had more testing and a suspicious malignancy was found on her pancreas. Following a biopsy and endoscopic laparoscopy, she learned that she had pancreatic cancer, inoperable due to metastases. Linda currently undergoes chemotherapy with no side effects and is in "uncharted territory" according to her oncologist. She said that anyone who is diagnosed for pancreatic cancer should be connected with an organization like the Hirshberg Foundation. Linda talks about what she has learned from the organization and working with UCLA. She feels that most people only realize the true impact on their life when pancreatic cancer happens to them, a loved one, or close friend. Linda wants to see increased awareness about pancreatic cancer so that more attention is paid to this disease.
