Ovarian Cancer Panel – The future of ovarian cancer care
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it extremely difficult for ovarian cancer patients to seek proper treatment and care for their disease. Patients have been diagnosed later due to it being hard to differentiate between symptoms of ovarian cancer and other problems resulting in later diagnosis and worse outcomes. It is crucial that we discuss these challenges and the emotional needs of patients during such a difficult time in their lives.
Hannah Vaughan-Jones (Journalist and International News Broadcaster at CNN International) has convened leaders in the ovarian cancer space; Clara MacKay (CEO, World Ovarian Cancer Coalition), Tracie Miles, (Specialist Gynaecology Cancer Nurse), Irmina Wojtaszak (ovarian cancer patient and nurse), and Dave Fredrickson (AstraZeneca’s Executive Vice President, Oncology Business).
In this fifth and final section of the panel, our panel experts discussed their thoughts on the future of ovarian cancer care over the next 5 years.
